Lettre ouverte à mes amis de P&F

Retour

à John Cobb,
à Jeanyne Slettom,
au P&F staff,

Dear friends,

I am growing older and older and among all my wishes , PUSHING PROCESS FORWARD is coming first. I know Process is not not a religious institution
but I want to serve our Creator!
You are ecumenical
I might be wrong in expressing my thought this way: but I experienced that Christianity is closer
to Process than Catholicism (dogmas + miracles = explanations for mysteries !)

That is why, as most of you, I practice Protestantism. Protestants have no problems with their conscience: Catholics do, for instance,
when they react against the actual growth of displeased catholic authorities trying to compensate their members losses
by mixing up (voluntarily) Christianity and Catholics:
they simply short-circuit science with miracles
or institute dogma's, reward their obedient members with indulgencies (generous purgatory reductions)
They act exactly as if they were God's procurators.

By doing so, they use all available means to fill the growing gap (in recruiting Protestants) as the saying goes: 'each Catholic is an unconscious Protestant'....our faith's companions are bighearted isn't it ?!

We notice in the Catholic homilies & newspapers a tendency to manipulate their readers by beating about the bush. The chief editor of their principal publication called "Dimanche"(Sunday), a well-known Jesuit teacher (Charles Delhez), never states anything without adding comments either to moderate his opinion or to give evidence of the truth of his statements.

WHEN THEY ACCEPT to publish some of our (protestant) articles, they slash great chunks out of it
in order :
to expurgate them from any 'compromising' meaning and
give them a 'useless' sense and sow doubts in their readers' minds.

THIS perfect mechanism will help telling their flock that the difference between Catholics and Protestants is so tiny that it would just be a question of case law : NO PROBLEM...absolution will cover those who will dare take the risk
Their aim is to tranquillize their 'flock' even if it is risky !

This is the aim of that clarification :
The aim of the P&F action in Belgium, not only through my representation, but also through the active and free participation of P&F and CPS as the writing of articles, edition of of llustrations, photos and pictures on my site www.processetfoi.be as well as in www.processandfaith.org .

Your intervention will be translated by myself.

We will reinforce our friendship by facing up the insidious and subsversive behavior of some religious authorities which are not really benevolent nor even Christian. Isn't it important for you to have a free branch in frenchness ? We surely do not want to
eliminate at all cost the attempts to bring together the most important christian religions, but rather set ourselves with all our might against any unilateral takeover from one group by the other. Does not all this push us to loose our trust ::
dixit Benoît XVI : "Le Catholicisme est le seul et l'unique représentant de la Chrétienté."
Would'nt you be surprised to be the witnesses of a 'kamikaze's war'

I am sure that you'll understand my sef-defence reaction inasmuch as you know my
weakness in theology and my willingness to benefit from your experience, intelligence and need of friendship.
